The Oratory in Dun Laoghaire is a hidden gem of Celtic revival art. This tiny building is home to some of the most spectacular art work from the early part of 20th century Ireland, all produced by Sister Concepta Lynch. .

Welcome to CHIRA

The Cultural History of Ireland Research Association (CHIRA) is a not-for-profit organization based in Dublin, Ireland. The group aims to provide a forum for discussion of current scholarship on Irish cultural history. Our membership is composed of post-graduate and early-career researchers of Irish art, architecture & material culture as well as Irish history, geography and literature.

We look forward to broadening the disciplinary scope of our membership.
